I pretty much fan girled when Laura reach out to me to re-design her website. First of all, I have had her cookbook for years (I was vegan for a couple of years before I met my husband) and she just always stood out to me as having impeccable taste so I jumped at the chance to tell her story. I wanted to honor the many years she has been in the industry as well as keep things looking as cohesive as possible although we wanted a new look. She let me be inspired by avant-garde things, slow living, and of course the beauty of simplicity. The First Mess site has been nominated by DesignRush for The Best Hobby Web Designs and featured on their Best Designs Trends page.
